Full Gutter System Replacement — Edison
Project Intro
An Edison community HOA contacted Alpha Pro Construction LLC to replace the aging gutter systems across their 48-unit townhome community. The original aluminum gutters had been in place for 23 years and were experiencing widespread joint failures, sag, and overflow issues that were causing foundation erosion and basement moisture problems in multiple units.
We proposed a complete replacement with .032-gauge seamless aluminum K-style gutters fabricated on-site by our truck-mounted roll former, eliminating all joint seams along the gutter runs. We also recommended connecting all downspouts to an underground drainage system that channels water to the community’s storm retention area — permanently solving the foundation erosion problem.

Challenge & Solution
Working across 48 units required careful coordination with the HOA management company to notify residents of work schedules and protect personal property stored on patios and near downspout locations. Several units had landscaping directly under gutter lines that required protective covering during installation.
The underground drainage component required excavation along the building perimeter in areas where irrigation lines and electrical conduit were present. We engaged a locating service before any excavation and adjusted the drainage route at two locations to avoid conflicts. All excavation was hand-dug within 18 inches of known utilities.

Delivering Results
The community’s persistent foundation moisture issues were fully resolved within one rainy season after the underground drainage system was installed. Zero units reported gutter overflow or downspout leaks in the first year following completion — a marked improvement over the 12+ annual service calls the HOA had been generating under the old system.
